easy to install and sound is very good. For the price i paid i cant be more happy. It has all i need for a room sound system. Nothing out of this world but efficient and affordable, clue words these days. Its out of stock, you can find it only refurbished.
That's about it.However, the picture on this unit sucks. The player is very slow to load and slow to eject. There are only three good things I can say about this system. Don't even try watching The Dark Knight or Watchmen on this thing. I have sent the unit out for repairs through the retailer (I had an extended warranty) but I doubt they'll take care of most of these issues. It does OK with regular, normally lit scenes. The only way to get around this feature, from what I can tell, is to brighten the screen to the point where almost everything has a blue tint to it because it's brighter than it should be and too over-adjusted.
I have to adjust the sound on almost everything I watch (and sound adjustment is very limited on this unit). 1: It has great base, 2: It has been pretty reliable, and 3: It is usually well priced. Because it has such strong base, it overpowers the dialogue. However, if you're watching something that has a dark scene in it, the player automatically adjusts itself and dims WAY down to the point where you can barely see the image. You'll just be pissed off the whole time. Diagonal lines have recently appeared on the screen. PASS ON THIS P.O.S.
- I bought it as a sound system. It's great, it has 5 speakers and a sub-woofer. - It's not very responsive when you ask it to do things, but it's no big deal. - USB port on the front, I play music off of a USB flash drive.
Simple to set up and a simply wonderful sound. I couldn't be happier because I did it myself.
as in it is a no-frills version of a real DVD player. If you like slow motion, Am radio, or rapid repeat of select scenes, do not buy this. It has a lousy assortment of features. No more of this brand will I buy. Poor buy for the money.
